100% ITALIAN CROSSOVERThe meaning of our name
Odio Su Tela derive from a Pictorial Technique named (in italian) Olio Su Tela (Oil On Canvas). We really liked the idea to use a common phrase of our language, modified to give a slightly different meaning. Odio Su Tela and Olio Su Tela differs to each other only by one letter, so this definitely fits our ideas!
Odio Su Tela was born at the end of 2005 with the purpose of giving to the Italian crossover scene a band which they can define with, thanks to the lyrics in Italian (not too much often taken the best of it from others bands) and the songs with strong, immediate impact where music, power, aggression are melted in a very successful mix.
To testimony this, beyond 10000 contact adds in few months on myspace.com/odiosutela, where fans and interested can listen to 4 tracks on the EP Odio Su Tela (out last November) and find the link to the official site (300 visits and 2000 pages seen in average per month in last the 7 months) where its possible to download the entire EP free of charge.
The influences are multiple and go from System Of A Down to Subsonica, passing to Slipknot, Machine Head and electronic music. The EP was written, arranged, recorded and mixed entirely by the band at their private studio. The press and free distribution is also carried out directly by the band during live shows and through the official site. Odio Su Tela is the first official release of this band, but the last (not least) of a long series of demo recordings in ten years of activity as musicians. Even if young they can boast a certain experience in the music field, including other projects and bands.
In 2005, three members of Odio Su Tela have collaborated with WARNER MUSIC recording a video as band for the artist Ambramarie (second video for the young singer, third year of contract already). The three members are still engaged as live band for Ambramarie at live shows and festivals.
Christmas 2004 has marked the collaboration of the same three members with SONY, which entrusts them the remix of an old track (present also in the movie Kill Bill) to use as soundtrack for the Christmas commercial spot, being in fact transmitted during the holidays.
The members of O.S.T have moreover worked in bands and cover bands for many years and had many live shows, playing together with bands like Derozer, Diumvana (former Vanadium) and participating to SkyTV.
All these experiences are now to the service of this new band, currently busy with the promotion of the EP, with live evenings during which beside the tracks on the EP they propose covers (Korn, System Of A Down, Pantera, Linkin Park, etc) and rearrangements which mesh up between Fata Morgana (a songs by Italian famous rock band Litfiba) and Breathe (Prodigy) and the crossover remake of Sole Spento (from another Italian famous rock band called Timoria).
The objective is clearly to diffuse as much as possible our own produced music (and it proves the free distribution of the EP) and the searching of a record company disposed to believe in this such an ambitious plan.
